The Iowa Brewers Union Open at DMACC Culinary Building

March 12, 2011 from 10am to 4pm

This in a AHA Sanctioned competition that IBU holds each year in March. IBU takes entries from all over the country in all Homebrew, mead, and cider categories. Medals are given to the top 3 for each style with a best in show and a special IBU top hoppy beer. The IBU Open is even qualifying for the High Plains Brewer Award. Iron Brewer 2011 at El Bait Shop

Here's the recipe for the first annual IBU Brewers Challenge. It's an American Pale Ale. We are still working out what the winner will get. But for now, it's just bragging rights.
